Engine

1986cc, SOHC (0.040 overbore). Crankshaft and con rods lightened, shotpeened and balanced with pistons. Head and intake manifold ported, polished and cc'd. Valves lightened, reshaped and polished. 

Pistons Aria domed.
Camshaft BRE 02, adjustable timing, manufactured by Iskenderian.
Exhaust

Snake 1 1/2" diameter equal length headers, over and under rail, through front fender into a 3" collector tube, which exits in front of the left rear wheel. (From 1967-1979 the car ran 3 inch tube only, with no muffler).

Output 1972 figures (BRE) - Hitachi/SU: 205-210hp - Mikuni/Solex: 210-215hp
Redline 8,100rpm
Other engine features Datsun competition 7 qt oilpan, BRE remote oil unit, filter in right fender, oil cooler behind right headlight opening. Datsun competition low drag alternator.
